ABOUT
THE ECMI
SUMMER
SCHOOLS
Since 2011, the ECMI Annual
Summer School has trained over
300 young scholars and
practitioners from Europe and
beyond. Participants have
enhanced their knowledge of
diversity management, border
region challenges, and human and
minority rights. Held in Flensburg,
the Summer School introduces
attendees to the rich history and
achievements of the GermanDanish border region of
Schleswig-Holstein, fostering
cooperation and networking
among participants and local,
regional, and international
partners.
The Summer School also ventures
beyond Flensburg, having been
organized in locations such as
Brussels, Berlin, OƱati (Basque
Country), and Belgrade. This
approach allows us to engage with
areas where minority policies are
actively shaped and implemented,
bringing us closer to students and
practitioners. This continuous
evolution keeps the Summer
School dynamic and exciting.
Our cooperation with ECMI alumni
is vibrant and ongoing, involving
the alumni network in various
ECMI activities, publication series,
projects, and information
exchange.
