STANISLAV ČERNEGA
Stani(slav) is the creative mastermind
behind this brochure! As the
communications guru at the ECMI, he's got
a passion for connecting people and ideas.
With a knack for graphic design, he
sprinkled his artistic magic all over this very
brochure you're holding.
During his ECMI adventure, Stani made
waves as a project research associate,
leading initiatives like the Eastern
Partnership Programme and Empower
Future Minority Leaders in Moldova. But his
true joy lies in the educational activities of
ECMI, especially the epic annual Summer
School that brings together bright minds
from around the world.
Stani holds a master's degree in European
studies from Comenius University in
Bratislava, where he was also pursuing his
PhD studies (which are temporarily on hold).
His research delves into the realm of
Europeanization and its impact on stateless
national minorities, inspired by his own
roots as a member of the Ruthenian/Rusyn
minority.

AZIZ BERDIQULOV
Aziz is a Researcher at the ECMI. His main
research interests include nation-building,
political mobilisation, official recognition,
and socio-economic participation,
particularly in post-Soviet countries.
Aziz helped establish links between the
ECMI and several organizations and
research institutes, including the American
University of Central Asia and the OSCE
Academy in Bishkek. He is one of the
coordinators of the ECMI Summer School
and was involved with the ECMI Spring
School. His works are published by the
Central Asian Bureau for Analytical
Reporting (CABAR) and the Journal on
Ethnopolitics and Minority Issues in Europe
(JEMIE), for which he was also a guest editor.
Prior to joining the ECMI, Aziz worked at the
OSCE Office in Tajikistan on initiatives
covering good governance, anti-corruption,
youth participation, and elections. He
gained experience on issues related to the
rule of law, self-governance, and access to
justice while working at a local NGO in
Tajikistan.
